New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has never been one to shy away from attacking controversial topics. Now, he is questioning the origins of HIV.
During a recent appearance on the Look Into It podcast, Rodgers suggested that the US government engineered HIV in the 1980s.
Rodgers also had plenty of questions about COVID-19 during the pandemic and famously refused to get vaccinated, instead of opting for other preventative measures and treatments.
The 40-year-old is preparing to enter his first full season with the New York Jets.
The Jets initially acquired Rodgers in a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers last offseason and were immediately labeled as Super Bowl contenders as a result.
However, Rodgers ended up tearing his Achilles on New York’s first offensive drive of the regular season, ending Gang Green’s championship aspirations.
Rodgers had planned on returning last December, which would have been unprecedented turn of events, but with the Jets out of playoff contention by then, he opted to sit out the remainder of the year.
His recovery has apparently gone well, and he seems ready to begin Week 1 as New York’s starting quarterback.
The Jets have doubled down on trying to find help for Rodgers this offseason, signing wide receive Mike Williams to pair with Garrett Wilson in the aerial attack and also making some moves along their offensive line, which was a major problem area in 2023.
New York is also projected by many to select Georgia tight end Brock Bowers in the NFL Draft this month.
We’ll see if Aaron Rodgers is able to regain his previous form next season.
