The Philadelphia Eagles traveled to take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football to close out Week 11. It was a rematch from the Super Bowl in February, which the Chiefs won 38-35. This time, it was the Eagles who came out on top.

Philadelphia mounted an impressive come-from-behind victory, winning 21-17 for their ninth win in 10 games this season. While it wasn’t the prettiest game for either team, the Eagles will certainly be happy to come away with the win.

It was a tough go at it offensively for a majority of the night for Jalen Hurts and Philadelphia’s offense, but when they needed to make plays the most, they got the job done. In the process, he made some NFL history.

According to OptaSTATS, Hurts became the first player in NFL history to lead his team back from a double-digit halftime deficit to win the game while being the only player on either team to score a touchdown or field goal in the second half. His first score came with 4:05 remaining in the third quarter when he ran in a 10-yard touchdown. The second and game-winner came with 6:20 left with the patented ‘tush push’.

Both defenses came to play on Monday night, but it was the Eagles’ defense that was able to hold a little bit stronger. Numerous drops by Cheif pass catchers certainly helped, as Philadelphia took full advantage of the supporting cast around Patrick Mahomes falling apart.

Hurts had a quiet evening through the air, completing 14-of-22 passes for 150 yards and one intercepting, absorbing five sacks as well. But he hit DeVonta Smith, who caught six passes for 99 yards, for a 41-yard pass to set up the game-winning touchdown.

On the ground, the Eagels’ star was contained as well, as Hurts gained only 29 yards on 12 carries, but he had the two touchdowns in the second half that was enough to get the win. This was a statement win for the potential MVP, as his case to win the award has gotten even stronger.
