What To Expect From DeSean Jackson In 2020
The Eagles are a team to keep an eye on in the NFC. While the Dallas Cowboys are once again receiving most of the hype in the NFC East division, Philadelphia has the talent to once again surprisingly steal the division and leave the Cowboys fighting for a Wild Card spot.
Jackson is going to be a huge part of what the Eagles do offensively. With all of the injuries that they had at wide receiver last year, they are banking on Jeffery and Jackson coming back with strong performances this year.
ESPN has released their league-wide projections, but they don’t see Jackson having a very big year. At this point in time, they are projecting the veteran wide receiver to catch 47 passes for 746 yards and four touchdowns.
If that projection ends up being true, Jackson will provide some playmaking, but he will be far from elite. They don’t see him regaining the star form that he has had throughout the majority of his career. But, that is enough to help provide Wentz with a quality and consistent weapon.
Granted, those projections could end up being way off and Jackson could have a much bigger season. However, we are going to project that he ends up with 55 receptions for around 800 yards and six touchdowns.
There is no question that he is still going to be a big-play threat. Wentz loves airing the football out and Jackson will be on the receiving end of some of those long balls. Unfortunately, with Jackson’s age beginning to become a factor, he isn’t going to be a 1,000-yard threat again.
Philadelphia will definitely be a better all-around offensive team with Jackson on the field. They have the talent to be a contender, but they’ll need Jeffery, Reagor, and Miles Sanders to step up with good years as well.
