Fantasy Football outlook for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020

Wide Receivers

Tyrell Williams became the Raiders’ No. 1 wide receiver after Antonio Brown was gone. He caught a touchdown in the each of his first five games last year, as he dealt with plantar fasciitis he originally suffered in Week 2. But he ultimately missed just two games.

Through Week 8, with five games played due to a bye as well as two missed games, Williams was WR24 in standard fantasy scoring. Per-game in standard scoring over that span, he was tied for ninth (12.1 fantasy points per game). Then his foot issues severely hampered him, and his production fell off. Despite Carr’s general aversion to throwing deep, Williams enters the 2020 as the closest thing the Raiders have to a No.1 wide receiver.

Henry Ruggs has speed to burn, in the mold of Tyreek Hill or John Ross. But he showed he’s more than a deep threat at Alabama, and he’s in line to work out of the slot right away.

From a fantasy perspective, Ruggs is sure to have a lot of boom-or-bust to him as a rookie. He’s worth drafting as a WR4/WR5, with better value in best-ball formats.

Hunter Renfrow started slowly as a rookie last year, but he wound up second on the Raiders in targets (71). He finished with back-to back 100-yard games in Week 16 and 17, ending a stretch (Week 7-17) where he was nearly a WR2 (WR26) in PPR points per game.

With added competition for targets, Renfrow’s fantasy stock is down. That said, he is rosterable in PPR formats with a path to some relevance there.

Nelson Agholor was a solid fantasy wide receiver in 2017 (WR22) in standard scoring) and 2018 (WR40 in standard scoring). But this nugget from The Athletic’s Vic Tafur says it all about his prospects as a Raider.

A change of scenery should help him. But Agholor’s fantasy relevance is rooted in being a vulture from better players.

Rookie Bryan Edwards has potential, so dynasty league owners should be aware of him. For this year though, his path to production is too long. Former Bill Zay Jones is off the radar until further notice.
