The Dallas Cowboys, like every team around the NFL, has had some chippiness during training camp practices. It is nothing out of the ordinary for guys to get heated and for some trash talk to ensue. But, in Dallas, a viral incident occurred.

Cowboys star cornerback Trevon Diggs was trash-talking the team’s starting quarterback Dak Prescott. Diggs used some colorful language when talking to Prescott, which some people will chalk up to just the heat of the moment in the competition.

“Shut your b***h a** up,” is what Diggs yelled at Prescott. The Cowboys’ quarterback responded by throwing the football at Diggs.

However, some people believe what Diggs did to Prescott is a sign of something deeper. One of those people is former NFL running back LeSean McCoy. He sees it as a sign that Prescott isn’t respected by his Cowboys teammates as much as he should be.

“I played with Michael Vick, played with Tom Brady, played with Josh Allen, played with Patrick Mahomes, nobody on the team would even fix they lips to say something like that to the quarterback.”

It does seem like McCoy could be onto something with the opinion that he shared. The best quarterbacks demand the respect and attention of their locker room. How Diggs trash-talked Prescott could certainly be taken as a sign of disrespect and could ruffle some feathers in the Cowboys’ locker room.

However, Diggs certainly doesn’t feel that way. He told the media “stay out of our business” when asked how the trash-talking could be perceived by others. Diggs also took to social media to respond to McCoy.

Cowboys cornerback Jourdan Lewis also offered up his opinion on the exchange. He believes something is being made out of nothing and that the trash-talking isn’t as serious as McCoy has made it out to be.
