Packers’ Coach Reveals Why Offense Will Be Better In 2024

It took a while for the Green Bay Packers‘ offense to get going last season, but that was primarily because quarterback Jordan Love was still finding his sea legs.

However, during the second half of 2023, Love took off, and the Packers’ offense did with him.

Now, offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich is looking forward to a much more productive 2024 campaign with a full year of experience under the team’s belt.

“Oh, it’s night and day,” Stenavich said of the offense, via Nick Spofford of the Packers’ official team website. “Night and day because last year … you didn’t really know what direction you could go yet because you didn’t really know … how much can you put on these guys’ plates and allow them to go out and execute?”

In spite of the early struggles, Green Bay’s offense still managed to finish a very respectable 11th in yardage and 12th in scoring last season.

Stenavich is expecting bigger things come September.

“Now, everyone has a year under their belt, so to speak,” he said. “It’s been great to just know what these guys are good at.”

Comfort level is a significant factor, as well, and Stenavich says that the offensive unit should feel much more confident in itself heading into next season.

“We can go out there right now and just run plays and it’s not like we’re installing everything for the first time,” Stenavich said. “We can start experimenting faster and taking the next steps with the offense.”

Of course, the Packers also won’t simply be rolling out the same old, same old. There will be some innovation within their playcalling.

“You’re always looking to take the next step,” said Stenavich. “You have to keep evolving, so it’s just a matter of what’s our best next step, or next two things that we want to do … where you can see, all right, is this the direction we want to go?”

Green Bay went 9-8 in 2023 and snuck into the playoffs as a Wild Card. It then proceeded to upset the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card Round before falling to the San Francisco 49ers.
