The Green Bay Packers suffered a crushing loss to the New York Giants on Monday night, and afterward, quarterback Jordan Love said he was disappointed, but still hopeful.

“Disappointing,” Love said, via the Packers’ official team website. “Like I said before. Had plenty of opportunities to take advantage of that game and win it, and did not capitalize on those. First half was not up to our standard. So, it’s disappointing.”

The Packers held a 10-7 lead at halftime, but the Giants responded by outscoring Green Bay 14-3 in the third quarter to take a 21-13 edge. Love and Co. proceeded to rally with nine unanswered points to grab a 22-21 advantage with under two minutes remaining in the fourth period, but New York ended up driving down the field for a game-winning field goal as time expired.

“I think we’ve got a great team,” Love added. “Obviously, we’re a team that has been in this situation, lost some tough games and been able to bounce back. So, I know we’ll be able to bounce back next week.”

Love went 25-for-39 with 218 yards, a touchdown and an interception in the loss. He also lost a fumble. It marked the first time the signal-caller had turned the ball over since Week 10.

The Packers had won three straight games going into Monday evening to improve to 6-6 and work their way back into the NFC playoff conversation.

Even with the loss to the Giants which dropped Green Bay below .500, the Packers still hold the seventh and final playoff spot in the conference. However, there are four other teams that are also 6-7, so as of now, Green Bay is merely benefiting from holding the tiebreaker.

On the season overall, Love has thrown for 3,084 yards, 23 touchdowns and 11 picks while completing 61.5 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 89.

Jordan Love and the Packers will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next Sunday. They will then battle the Carolina Panthers, Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears to close out the regular season.
