The Green Bay Packers have a few things on their to-do list to accomplish this offseason. Once they figure out the quarterback situation with Aaron Rodgers, they will move on to making upgrades to the skill positions.

During the 2022 offseason, the Packers made some bold decisions at the wide receiver position. They traded Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders and Marquez Valdes-Scantling signed with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Green Bay attempted to fill those voids with rookies Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs, but it was a plan that was doomed from the start. There aren’t many players in the NFL that can replicate the production of Adams and Valdes-Scantling was a great deep threat. Without an impact receiver or more experienced options, the Packers’ passing offense struggled.

This offseason, they will look to fix those issues. The free agent class is a little bit underwhelming but some options would be good fits for the Packers. One NFL scout that spoke to NFL Analysis Network believes that DJ Chark would be a good fit for the franchise.

“The Packers want to add a veteran weapon at the wide receiver position this offseason. Chark could be an ideal fit, especially due to the fact that his price tag won’t be huge. Plenty of other teams are expected to pursue Chark, but Green Bay will likely be among the list of suitors.”

Injuries have plagued Chark in recent seasons. He has played in only 15 games the last two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Detroit Lions but has proven he can produce big plays consistently. In the last two seasons, he has averaged 17.7 yards per reception with five touchdowns.

He has one Pro Bowl season under his belt, which was earned during his second season in the NFL when he caught 73 passes for 1,008 yards and eight touchdowns. The skill set is there for him to be a useful starter with his speed and athleticism, staying healthy is the only thing holding him back.

As the scout mentioned, the market for Chark is going to be a strong one. Plenty of teams are going to be looking to add speed to their offense and he can offer that in spades. Given their salary cap situation, targeting Chark on a relatively cheap price tag would be a huge win for the Packers.
