The Green Bay Packers have received a huge update on running back Aaron Jones.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Jones is back at practice on Thursday after being sidelined in last Sunday’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons due to a hamstring injury.

Jones also did not participate in individual drills on Wednesday, which led many to believe that his status for the Packers’ Week 3 matchup with the New Orleans Saints was in question.

The 28-year-old suffered the hamstring injury during Green Bay’s Week 1 win over the Chicago Bears. The injury occurred in the third quarter, when Jones came up lame after scoring a touchdown.

Jones carried the ball nine times for 41 yards and a touchdown while logging a couple of catches for 86 yards and a score before exiting.

The Savannah, Ga. native, who played his collegiate football at UTEP, was selected by the Packers in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Jones played in 12 games during his rookie campaign, totaling 448 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. He showed improvement the following year, finishing with 728 yards and eight scores. Jones then broke out in 2019, racking up 1,084 yards and a league-leading 16 touchdowns on the ground. He also added 49 catches for 474 yards while reaching the end zone three times.

He proceeded to make his first Pro Bowl in 2020, registering 1,104 yards and nine scores. After a mediocre 2021, Jones then racked up career highs in both rushing yards (1,121) and receptions (59) last season.

The Packers, who blew a double-digit lead in their loss to the Falcons last week, have gotten off to a 1-1 start and will look to jump back over .500 when they play host to the Saints on Sunday afternoon.
