Josh Jacobs is getting set to hit free agency this offseason, and whether or not he will return to the Las Vegas Raiders is anyone’s guess.

The star running back spoke about his future on Friday and said that he is “not stressing” about it.

“I trust in God’s plan,” Jacobs said, via Vinny Bonsignore of The Las Vegas Review-Journal. “Obviously, this is home for me. Regardless how it plays out, this is still somewhere I will forever keep a house and things like that. I will forever keep a home.”

Jacobs, who played his collegiate football at the University of Alabama, was selected by the Raiders with the 24th overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft.

He enjoyed a terrific rookie campaign, racking up 1,150 yards and seven touchdowns while averaging 4.8 yards per carry.

The following year, Jacobs totaled 1,065 yards and 12 scores, but his efficiency dipped, as he logged a rather pedestrian 3.9 yards per attempt. He continued to slide in 2021, finishing with 872 yards while reaching the end zone nine times.

But then, in 2022, the 25-year-old broke out, leading the NFL with 1,653 rushing yards to go along with 12 rushing touchdowns. In addition, he recorded a robust 4.9 yards per attempt and hauled in 53 receptions for 400 yards en route to a Pro Bowl appearance and a First-Team All-Pro selection.

This past season was a rough one for Jacobs, however. Injuries limited him to 13 games, and during that time, he totaled 805 yards and six scores while posting a meager 3.5 yards per tote.

His off year in 2023 notwithstanding, Josh Jacobs should still be compensated nicely next month. We’ll see if the Raiders decide to be the ones to do so.
