Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown may be angling for a trade, and the Kansas City Chiefs may be one of his most likely destinations.
Bookies.com gives the Chiefs the fourth-best odds to trade for Brown at +575. The Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts and Cincinnati Bengals are listed as the top three most probable landing spots.
So why would the Eagles trade Brown?
Well, the star wide out suffered a knee injury during Philadelphia’s regular-season finale against the New York Giants and was unable to play in the team’s Wild Card Round loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If that wasn’t enough, Brown had already seemed dissatisfied with his declining role as the season progressed.
A few days before Philly lost to the Buccaneers, Brown removed all Eagles-related content from his Instagram and also deactivated his X account.
Couple that with the fact that Philadelphia went just 1-6 over its last seven games and apparently experienced some locker-room issues, and you can see why there have been rumors that the club could ultimately move Brown this offseason.
Brown hauled in 106 receptions for 1,456 yards and seven touchdowns this year en route to his third Pro Bowl selection. However, after racking up six straight games of over 125 receiving yards between Weeks 3 and 8, Brown logged 100 yards just once over his final nine contests.
The 26-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Mississippi, was originally selected by the Tennessee Titans in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
Brown spent the first three years of his career with the Titans before being traded to the Eagles in April 2022.
We’ll see if the Chiefs do end up making a play for A.J. Brown this offseason.
