Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has become quite the celebrity now that he is dating pop star Taylor Swift, but quarterback Patrick Mahomes says that Kelce is still the same man.

When asked whether or not Kelce’s newfound celebrity status has changed him, Mahomes said that has certainly not been the case.

“Travis has always been Travis,” Mahomes said, via Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. “It’s been cool to watch for me because he has all that attention but he’s just been himself the whole time. He’s still Travis Kelce. He still will walk through the stadium and treat every single person like they’re his best friend. And he’s going to be like that in the locker room every single day. It hasn’t been any different.”

Not only is Kelce dating Swift, but he and his brother, Jason, have founded a well-known podcast called “New Heights” that has only been growing in popularity. Kelce has also hosted Saturday Night Live, which Mahomes thought was fun.

“It was really, really cool,” Mahomes said. “It was a dream of his. He knows all the skits from guys that were on Saturday Night Live. He was telling me the ones from before I was even born. I was like, ‘Trav, I’m not the same age as you, I don’t even know who that is.’”

Of course, being an NFL superstar helps, too.

Kelce is one of the best tight ends to ever play the game and just earned his ninth straight Pro Bowl selection after catching 93 passes for 984 yards and five touchdowns this season. He also just logged seven catches for 75 yards and a couple of touchdowns in the Chiefs’ Divisional Round playoff win over the Buffalo Bills this past weekend.

Most importantly, Travis Kelce will have a chance to play in his fourth Super Bowl when he and the Chiefs take on the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game this Sunday.
