The Kansas City Chiefs suffered yet another tough loss this past weekend, falling to the Green Bay Packers by a score of 27-19.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had a rather rough outing in the defeat, going 21-for-33 with 210 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

Afterward, tight end Travis Kelce tried comforting Mahomes.

“Keep playing, dawg,” Kelce said, according to Sam McDowell of The Kansas City Star. “Don’t beat yourself up over it, dawg.”

McDowell added that Kansas City’s hallway was “as quiet as you’d imagine” following the loss.

The Chiefs have now gone just 2-3 over their last five games and are 8-4 on the season. While their record is obviously still good, it’s also pretty clear that something is not right with the defending Super Bowl champions.

Mahomes himself has not looked quite right this season, throwing for 3,127 yards, 22 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while completing 67.8 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 95.1.

While those are clearly not bad numbers, they are not really up to Mahomes’ standards, and he has not thrown for 300 yards in a single game since Oct. 22. As a matter of fact, Mahomes has only hit 300 passing yards three times this season.

Meanwhile, Kelce logged four catches for 81 yards against the Packers. On the season overall, he has caught 74 passes for 813 yards and five touchdowns and has represented the only consistent target Patrick Mahomes has had in the aerial attack this year.

The Chiefs entered the campaign with questions surrounding their receiving corps, and now, heading into Week 14, it’s pretty clear that the concerns were legitimate.

Kansas City will look to right the ship when it takes on the Buffalo Bills this Sunday. It then has games with the New England Patriots, Las Vegas Raiders, Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Chargers to close out the regular season.
