Raiders Fans Are Definitely Not In On A Potential Justin Fields Trade

Could the Las Vegas Raiders try to swing a trade for Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields this offseason? Raiders fans are hoping not.

Silver and Black Pride polled the Raiders faithful, and 79 percent of respondents said “no” to a Fields trade.

Las Vegas definitely seems to be in need of a signal-caller, as rookie Aidan O’Connell has not been cutting it thus far, and free-agent acquisition Jimmy Garoppolo has not exactly worked out.

However, it seems that Raiders fans largely feel that Fields is not the answer.

Fields, who played his collegiate football at Ohio State, was originally selected by the Bears with the 11th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft.

It has largely been a struggle for the youngster since he entered the league.

He played in 12 games and made 10 starts during his rookie campaign, throwing for 1,870 yards, seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions while completing 58.9 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 73.2. He also rushed for 420 yards and a couple of scores while averaging 5.8 yards per carry.

Last year, Fields started 15 contests and showed some progression, totaling 2,242 yards, 17 touchdowns and 11 picks while completing 60.4 percent of his throws and registering a passer rating of 85.2. In addition, he racked up 1,143 yards and eight scores as a rusher, recording a robust 7.1 yards per tote.

This season has been interesting for Fields, to say the least. He got off to a dreadful start but showed some signs of brilliance midseason before being thwarted by a dislocated thumb. Through nine starts, he has thrown for 1,810 yards, 13 touchdowns and six interceptions while completing 63.5 percent of his passes and tallying a passer rating of 91.8.

Chicago is expected to try and move Justin Fields this offseason, as it may very well end up with the No. 1 overall pick in this coming offseason’s NFL Draft courtesy of the Carolina Panthers.
