Superstar wide receiver Davante Adams was clearly not happy in his situation with the Las Vegas Raiders earlier this season, but he seems to be coming around.

The Raiders made sweeping changes heading into Week 9, firing head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler. The club decided to replace McDaniels with Antonio Pierce, who had been the linebackers coach, on an interim basis.

Pierce has seemed to have a great effect on Las Vegas thus far, as evidenced by the team’s blowout win over the New York Giants this past Sunday.

Adams sang Pierce’s praises afterward and seems thrilled to be playing for the former NFL linebacker.

“We’ve got a new leader right now, and it’s somebody that we can get behind and somebody that played the game,” said Adams, according to Paul Gutierrez of ESPN. “So it makes it a lot easier for us to connect with him, because he understands the mind of a player and he’s done a really good job just making sure we understand that it’s not about him — it’s about this team. It’s about us figuring it out and getting behind him, obviously. And I feel like that’s what everybody did. That’s why it looked that way today.”

Adams logged four catches for 34 yards in the win over the Giants. On the season overall, he has caught 51 passes for 573 yards and four touchdowns.

Earlier in the year, Adams criticized the Raiders’ organizational culture and said he does not have time to just wait around. He then expressed some displeasure with his role a couple of weeks later after compiling just six catches between Weeks 5 and 6.

But now, the 30-year-old seems relatively content with the current circumstances.

Davante Adams is in his second season with Las Vegas after coming over in a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers back in March 2022.

The Raiders improved to 4-5 with their Week 9 win and will take on the New York Jets next Sunday.
