There is plenty of talent in the AFC West, but other than the Kansas City Chiefs, the division is off to a poor start this season. One team to keep an eye on is the Los Angeles Chargers, but they are a piece or two away. A blockbuster trade for Las Vegas Raiders’ superstar wide receiver Davante Adams could help them take a big step closer.

The Las Vegas Raiders are 1-2, and they’re perhaps facing a bit of a crisis, as multiple players, including star wide receiver Davante Adams and defensive end Chandler Jones have made critical comments about the team’s culture.

Some are now speculating that Adams could end up getting traded, either because the team may decide to start over or by his own request.

Meanwhile, the Chargers are 1-2 and will be without stud wideout Mike Williams for the rest of the year after he tore his ACL during Sunday’s win over the Minnesota Vikings.

It is hard to imagine the Raiders helping out one of their historic division rivals, but if Los Angeles comes up with a strong offer, could they end up saying yes and salvaging the Bolts’ playoff hopes?

Yes, the Bolts would perhaps have to pay a “tax” for being a team that the Raiders and their fans hate, but perhaps adding in a little more draft compensation would get the job done. Perhaps L.A. could even include Williams, who has a potential out in his contract at the end of this season, in order to avoid having to give up a first-round draft pick.

If that’s a non-starter, L.A. could offer three or even four picks in the later rounds of the draft to try to tickle Las Vegas’ throat enough.

Although Adams is 30 years of age, he’s still in his prime and should have at least a few productive years left if he stays healthy. He’s more of a downfield threat than Keenan Allen, who has been its No. 1 wideout threat for years, and he would give star quarterback Justin Herbert a very reliable threat in the intermediate game, especially on contested catches.

Herbert’s ability to put the football through a tight catching window and Adams’ ability to make difficult catches from distance could be a very productive marriage and one that finally takes the Chargers deep into the playoffs.
