Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp will make his season debut when the Rams host the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon, according to Andrew Siciliano of NFL Network.

Kupp missed the first four games of 2023 after being on the PUP list due to a hamstring injury he suffered during the preseason. The Rams activated the star wide out earlier this week.

Injuries have been an issue for Kupp dating back to last year, as he played in just nine games in 2022 thanks to a high-ankle sprain that ultimately required surgery. During his time on the field last season, Kupp caught 75 passes for 812 yards and six touchdowns.

The 30-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Eastern Washington, was originally selected by Los Angeles in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

After a couple of solid seasons to start his career, Kupp had a breakout campaign in 2019, registering 94 catches for 1,161 yards and 10 scores. He took a bit of a step back in 2020, snaring 92 balls for 974 yards while reaching the end zone three times, but in 2021, Kupp responded with a historic season, leading the NFL in receptions (145), receiving yards (1,947) and receiving touchdowns (16). His efforts resulted in a Pro Bowl appearance and a First-Team All-Pro selection.

Kupp finished just 17 yards shy of tying former Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson for the single-season record for receiving yards. He also became the first player since Carolina Panthers receiver Steve Smith back in 2005 to post a receiving triple crown.

Most importantly, Kupp’s Herculean performance in 2021 helped the Rams win a Super Bowl title.

Los Angeles has gotten off to a 2-2 start this season and is coming off of an overtime win over the Indianapolis Colts. Getting Cooper Kupp back in the lineup should be a significant boon to a Rams passing attack that already ranks second in the NFL even without his services.
