The Los Angeles Rams have been without wide receiver Cooper Kupp for the first three games of the season, as Kupp was placed on injured reserve before Week 1 due to a hamstring injury.

Rams head coach Sean McVay provided an update on Kupp’s status on Wednesday, stating that the team was hopeful that the star wide out would be back on the field for the club’s Week 5 matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles (via JPAFootball).

Los Angeles’ offense has actually managed quite well without Kupp in the early stages of 2023, ranking ninth in the NFL in total offense and a shocking fourth in passing offense.

Rookie fifth-round draft pick Puka Nacua has been a delightful surprise for the Rams early on, hauling in 30 receptions for 338 yards. Third-year receiver Tutu Atwell has also been impressive, logging 17 catches for 246 yards and a touchdown.

So just imagine how much better LA’s aerial attack will be once Kupp returns?

Kupp, who played his collegiate football at Eastern Washington, was selected by the Rams in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

After a couple of solid seasons to start his NFL career, Kupp broke out in 2019, catching 94 passes for 1,161 yards and 10 touchdowns.

However, that was nothing compared to what the 30-year-old was about to do two years later.

In 2021, Kupp racked up 145 receptions for 1,947 yards and 16 scores. He led the NFL in all three categories and came within five catches and 18 yards of setting all-time single-season records for both statistics.

Last year was a frustrating one for Cooper Kupp, as an ankle injury knocked him out after just nine games. He was on pace for another tremendous campaign, as he totaled 75 grabs for 812 yards while reaching the end zone six times before the injury.

The Rams are 1-2 and will battle the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
