Tyreek Hill may play for the Miami Dolphins now, but he clearly still keeps the Kansas City Chiefs close to his heart.
Hill, who spent the first six years of his career with the Chiefs before being traded to the Dolphins in March 2022, was asked about Kansas City being back in the Super Bowl yet again.
He gave a rather lighthearted response.
“There’s a lot of communication among us,” Hill said, via Harold R. Kuntz of Fox 4 KC. “I tell the guys congratulations, I’m so proud of you guys. … I wish it was kind of me. I’m like the sad little brother.”
Hill played his collegiate football at West Alabama and was originally selected by the Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
He made the Pro Bowl in each of his six seasons in Kansas City, earning three First-Team All-Pro selections. His best campaign came in 2018, when he caught 87 passes for 1,479 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Most importantly, Hill helped the Chiefs win a Super Bowl during the 2019-20 campaign.
Kansas City then dealt Hill to the Dolphins due to financial constraints.
Since joining Miami, the 29-year-old has been thoroughly dominant. He hauled in 119 receptions for 1,710 yards and seven touchdowns during his debut campaign in South Beach, and this season, he racked up 119 catches and led the league in both receiving yards (1,799) and receiving scores (13).
Hill has made the Pro Bowl while also notching First-Team All-Pro nods in each of his first two years with the Dolphins.
To add insult to injury for Tyreek Hill, the Dolphins lost to the Chiefs in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs last month.
Kansas City will battle the San Francisco 49ers with the championship on the line this Sunday.
