The Cleveland Browns recently hired Ken Dorsey as their offensive coordinator, and at his introductory press conference on Monday, Dorsey raved about quarterback Deshaun Watson.

“He’s one of the premier quarterbacks in this league,” Dorsey said, via JPA Football. “And from everything I’ve heard about him, a really quality human being. So, I’m just excited about that opportunity.”

Dorsey had spent the last two years serving as offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills.

Meanwhile, the Watson experiment has not exactly gone according to plan in Cleveland.

The Browns initially acquired Watson in a blockbuster trade with the Houston Texans back in March 2022 and proceeded to hand the signal-caller a five-year, $230 million fully guaranteed contract.

Watson was only able to play in six games during his debut campaign as a result of an 11-game suspension due to sexual misconduct allegations. During the time he was on the field, he threw for 1,102 yards, seven touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 58.2 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 79.1.

Then, this past season, Watson was once again limited to six contests, but this time, it was due to a shoulder injury that knocked him out for the year and ultimately required surgery. He posted similar numbers to 2022, finishing with 1,115 yards, seven touchdowns and four picks while completing 61.4 percent of his throws and registering a passer rating of 84.3.

The 28-year-old has gone 8-4 in his 12 starts in Cleveland.

Deshaun Watson spent the first five years of his career with the Texans, making three straight Pro Bowl appearances to begin his career. He sat out all of 2021.

The Browns went 11-6 and lost to Houston in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs this year.
