According to a report by Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald, New England Patriots safety Kyle Dugger remains unsigned and discontented with his transition tag designation.

This tag permits Dugger to explore opportunities in the open market while giving the Patriots the option to match any incoming offers.

Here is what Callahan had to say about the developing situation in New England.

“Dugger remains dissatisfied with the transition tag, a one-year, $13.2 million placeholder that will keep him here in New England. As of late this week, he had not signed the tag.”

Dugger showcased his prowess during the 2023 season, delivering impressive stats with 109 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and two interceptions, establishing himself as one of the NFL’s premier safeties and a vital asset to the Patriots defense.

Callahan, as transcribed by NESN.com’s Greg Dudek, provided further insight into Dugger’s dissatisfaction with the situation, amplifying concerns within the Patriots camp.

Given Dugger’s reliability and pivotal role within the team, his reluctance to sign could potentially signal uncertainty regarding his future in New England, particularly if both parties fail to reach a mutual agreement.
