New Odds Show Chances Of Packers Trading For DK Metcalf

DK Metcalf, Packers

The Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks have both made blockbuster trades this offseason. Green Bay was able to convince Aaron Rodgers to come back to the team but was not as successful when it came to star wide receiver, Davante Adams.

Adams was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders with a new contract after having the franchise tag placed on him by the Packers. He will be facing off with former Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson twice a season now, as Wilson was traded to the Denver Broncos this offseason as well.

Following those trades, each team is seemingly heading in different directions. While losing Adams hurts, the Packers are going to be contenders as long as Rodgers is under center. For Seattle, they could be entering a rebuild after parting ways with their franchise quarterback and long-time linebacker, Bobby Wagner.

Given the current state of each franchise, could they come together on a trade this offseason as well? The Seahawks have some excellent weapons on offense in wide receivers D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. With Wilson no longer around, the team is reportedly open to offers on both of them.

While nothing is imminent right now, that could always change. If the Seahawks are willing to negotiate a deal for Metcalf, the Packers would be smart to do their due diligence and check in on a deal.

So, what are the chances that the Seahawks trade their No. 1 receiver? Over at Bookie.com, Seattle remains the favorite to have him on the roster in Week 1 with -125 odds. However, the Packers are the favorites among the teams listed to land him should he be traded.

Rounding out the list are the New York Jets at +550, Kansas City Chiefs at +750, Chicago Bears at +900, Indianapolis Colts at +950 and The Field at +5000. Metcalf is entering the last season of his rookie deal, so he will be looking for an extension from whoever may acquire him.

That could take the Packers, who lost Adams and the Chiefs, who traded Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins, out of the running because of how expensive it will be. Metcalf is a star in the making, catching 216 passes for 3,170 yards and 29 touchdowns in his first three seasons in the NFL.

Standing 6’4” and weighing 235 pounds, there aren’t many players that can match his combination of size and athleticism. He could very well get close to the salary numbers that Adams and Hill approached given his age compared to those two players and his level of production.
