New York Jets running back Breece Hall was starting to come on during his rookie season in 2022 before a knee injury cut his campaign short. He has been spending this offseason rehabbing hard in hopes of being able to get back onto the field in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills.

Whenever it is that Hall is cleared and able to return, the Jets are getting another explosive playmaker to put around Aaron Rodgers. Hall was showcasing very strong dual-threat abilities as a rookie, which is part of the reason why the Jets invested a second-round pick in him during the 2022 NFL Draft, trading up to select him.

Given the performance that he had last season, Hall is now on the radar of many people around the league. Some believe he is going to be in the wave of the next-best running backs in the NFL.

Just how good does NFL personnel believe he is? While Hall didn’t finish in the top 10 of the running back power rankings conducted by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, plenty of executives, coaches and scouts that made up the voting panel are high on his abilities.

Multiple voters according to Fowler already had Hall inside their top five running backs in the NFL. They must have really liked what they saw through seven games last season before he suffered a knee injury against the Denver Broncos. One voter likened Hall to running back Matt Forte, saying he is a faster, stronger version of the Tulane product that spent the final two seasons of his career with the Jets.

“He’s a volume back with big-play ability, fast, big, good in space and good as a receiver,” an AFC scout said. “Just a matter of if he looks healthy.”

That is some high praise for Hall and the Jets have to feel good about what the future holds. The only thing holding him back right now is his ACL rehab, which by all accounts, has been going very well.

New York looks to have two star foundational pieces offensively as Hall was an early favorite for the Rookie Of the Year award in 2022. Instead, it was his teammate, wide receiver Garrett Wilson, that took home the hardware, providing the Jets with as explosive a young duo as any team in the NFL.
