QB Kyler Murray
The hype surrounding the former Heisman Trophy winner entering the NFL was substantially strong and rightfully so. He did go No. 1 overall. Kyler Murray led the Cardinals to a two-game improvement in 2019 while taking home the hardware for the Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Murray posted 3,722 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions despite being sacked a league-high 48 times. Last season, Arizona still remained in the middle of a roster reboot, but after a quality offseason, they appear to be ready for another step in the right direction.
Cementing All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins into the offense, Murray now has a true No. 1 playmaker along the outside. Plus, with Larry Fitzgerald, Christian Kirk, and a full season of Kenyan Drake carrying the workload for the ground attack, depth at the skill position is arguably their greatest strength.
Along with several additions via trade and signings in free agency, they also added protection for Murray — drafting offensive tackle Josh Jones in the second round. With all the support at Murray’s disposal, a big-time season looms large in 2020.
