One of the biggest games on the schedule for Week 5 in the NFL is the Dallas Cowboys paying a visit to the San Francisco 49ers. That is the Sunday Night Football game of the week and one of the better matchups in the early going of the season.

The Cowboys are entering the game 3-1 as they got back on track in Week 4, destroying the New England Patriots 38-3. It was a great bounceback for them after losing to the Arizona Cardinals 28-16 the week before.

Thus far, the Dallas schedule has been very favorable. Their opponents to this point have four wins combined on the season; the 49ers have that many alone, as they are one of the last two undefeated teams remaining along with the Philadelphia Eagles

The Cowboys will certainly be tested this week as the 49ers are an excellent team. They have scored 30+ points in all four of their contests this season, as the Dallas defense is going to be tested early and often.

Will they be able to keep pace with the explosive 49ers? Former NFL running back turned analyst Maurice Jones-Drew certainly believes so. His bold prediction for Week 5 is that the Cowboys’ offense is going to have a huge day.

“We’re in for a treat Sunday night with a highly anticipated matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers. There are so many scenarios that could shake out between these two talented teams, but I’m going to say this: The Dak Prescott-led Cowboys take it to the Nick Bosa-led 49ers and rack up an astonishing 500 yards and 30 points in a road win.”

Prescott has done a good job of limiting the turnovers thus far this season. He has thrown only one interception in four games, making good on his vow to turn the ball over less this season.

He will be put to the test against a strong 49ers defense that is currently third in the league in points allowed and fifth in yardage surrendered. If Prescott is able to throw for 500+ yards and lead the team to an impressive road victory, he will announce the Cowboys’ presence as a contender in the NFC.
