NFL Analyst Makes Major Bold Prediction For Giants’ Daniel Jones

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is under some pressure during the 2023 season. After helping lead the team to the playoffs and a victory on the road over the Minnesota Vikings during Super Wild Card Weekend last season, there are expectations for Daniel Jones to help take the team to the next level.

General manager Joe Schoen did a solid job of upgrading the weapons around Daniel Jones, hoping the passing game becomes more explosive. Tight end Darren Waller was the biggest acquisition via trade from the Las Vegas Raiders. The team was active in free agency, bringing in Parris Campbell and Jamison Crowder and more recently signing Cole Beasley. In the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Tennessee speedster Jalin Hyatt was selected.

On top of the infusion of talent, Daniel Jones now has a big contract to live up to. After having the fifth-year option on his contract declined, the No. 6 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft responded with the best season of his career.

That led to the two sides working out a four-year, $160 million deal just ahead of the franchise tag deadline; the tag was then used on running back Saquon Barkley. With Barkley agreeing to a deal before training camp himself, Daniel Jones is set up for success in 2023.

There are certainly a lot of skeptics when it comes to whether or not he will be able to take advantage. However, there are certain people that have bought all the way in. One of those people is NFL insider Jordan Schultz.

Schultz recently made an appearance on Speak on FS1 alongside former NFL players Emmanuel Acho and LeSean McCoy and Joy Taylor. He made a very bold comment about Daniel Jones, as Schultz believes that he is going take a step forward and break into the top-10 quarterbacks this season

That is certainly a bold prediction from Schultz, but if Daniel Jones doesn’t take that step this season, it is fair to question when it will ever come. The Giants have a star Barkley as the centerpiece of the offense and in the trenches, the team should be improved as well, with star left tackle Andrew Thomas anchoring the unit.

With improvements to the weapons, it is now or never for the Duke product to cement his status as the Giants’ franchise quarterback heading into the future. If the team takes a step back in 2023, all eyes will be on him next offseason as Schoen and Brian Daboll could look to make a change under center.
