NFL Analyst Reveals Cryptic Reason For Eagles’ Collapse

Everyone has been wondering exactly what happened to the Philadelphia Eagles this past season.

The Eagles were 10-1 and appeared well on their way to representing the NFC in the Super Bowl yet again. You could also argue that they were the favorites to win the whole thing entirely.

But then, Philadelphia lost five of its last six games to end the regular season, making Philly the first team in league history to start 10-1 and not win 12 games.

On top of that, the Eagles went out with a whimper in the playoffs, as they were routed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card Round.

Well, Craig Carton of FS1 claims to know what happened, but he is remaining rather cryptic about the circumstances surrounding Philadelphia’s collapse.

“It is a problem that would splinter any group of men — any group of men,” Carton said on his Carton Show this week. “It is a real significant problem and it cannot be fixed. … I’m not gonna tell you more than that. I know what the problem was. I know they’re trying to fix it. I don’t think it can be fixed. So it will be very interesting to see if a high-profile player is no longer with the Eagles.”

So perhaps one player in particular caused a major locker-room issue?

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reached out to Philly’s organization and received a text back saying “none of that (expletive) happened,” but that seems like a rather flimsy answer considering Carton never actually specified what happened.

Of course, because Carton’s initial report was so vague, we have no way of knowing for sure who is right here. But we can probably all agree that something surely went very wrong in the Eagles’ locker room this past year.

We’ll just probably never know the exact details of what happened.
