10. CB Aqib Talib
At one time, Talib was regarded across the NFL as a lockdown cornerback. His five Pro Bowl nominations and once named an All-Pro speak for itself, but he’s now entering his age 34 season, while following up his injury-plagued 2019 campaign.
Talib’s days of matching up against the opposing teams No.1 wide receiver are likely over, but he could still add value to a team looking to add a veteran cornerback. Talib projects as someone who can offer depth such as being a team’s No.3 cornerback on their depth chart.
Potential landing spots: Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints
9. S Tony Jefferson
After spending three seasons in Baltimore, the team cut bait with Jefferson partly due to the money he was tied to in 2020. Jefferson played a mix of both safety positions and did so at a high level, but after last season’s knee injury that limited him to just five games his free agency market has not drawn much attention.
Jefferson, 28, still has some juice left in the tank but he may be forced to sign a one-year prove-it deal as he works his way back from injury.
Potential landing spots: Dallas Cowboys, Indianapolis Colts
8. Edge Clay Matthews
Until recently, Matthews hasn’t received much of any buzz throughout free agency. Now entering his age 34 season, he’s no longer the Pro Bowl player he once was during the early stages of his career.
But Matthews could still bring added value as a third-down rusher — similar to how the Los Angles Rams used him last season, resulting in eight sacks — the most he’s had since 2014.
Potential landing spots: Seattle Seahawks, Tennessee Titans, New York Jets
7. RB Devonta Freeman
After being awarded to two Pro Bowl selections over his first three seasons, Freeman has largely regressed in 2018 and 2019 due to injuries — hindering his production when on the field.
His days as a feature back are presumably behind him, but Freeman’s versatility as a running back who can run in and outside the tackles, while also being a factor in the passing game makes him an intriguing option despite his recent down years.
Potential landing spots: Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots
6. DT Damon Harrison
After an unusual year for Harrison, the lack of production could’ve been a testament of not fitting head coach Pat Patrica’s defensive scheme.
Harrison, 31, has likely already taxed his best playing ability throughout the early years of his career but he should still be capable of swallowing tackles from the interior of the defensive line.
Harrison didn’t show much of any ability to get after the passer last season, but if he can get back to his ways of stuffing the run with regularity, he may be able to revitalize his career.
Potential landing spots: Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Chargers
