Although Washington has struggled for the past few seasons, there is hope in DC this season. Derrius Guice would have been the starter. However, Guice was promptly let go after being arrested for domestic violence. Adrian Peterson is now the expected starting back.

Peterson is entering his 14th season in the NFL. He is turning 35-years-old. However, Peterson is far from an ordinary running back and is set to play a prominent role for the Washington Football Team.

While some are counting him out for this season, Peterson is still a very good running back. This is the same player who rushed for 2,000 yards a season removed from ACL surgery. Although “Father Time” has yet to be defeated, Peterson is the one player who could challenge him. There is still gas left in his tank. He could rush for 1,000 yards this season.

While Adrian Peterson is going to get the opportunity to surpass 1,000 yards and reach six touchdowns, there are plenty of young backs with potential. Antonio Gibson is the player who could emerge as a future star. If Peterson yields any carries, Gipson will be his main competition.
