Bears Could Make Massive Trade For Jerry Jeudy

For the Chicago Bears, the better half of the last 10 years has seen them struggle in the passing game with no real connection between quarterback and wide receiver.

That has come in large part due to the lack of firepower on the receiving end. After throwing for a league-worst 130.5 passing yards per game, the Bears will need to explore all of their options to bring the team more productivity in year three of the Justin Fields era.

The last time the Bears had a wide receiver make the Pro Bowl was back in 2013 where both Alshon Jeffrey and Brandon Marshall were selected — a season that saw the team average 267.6 passing yards per game (fifth most in the league).

The 2023 Bears have the opportunity to reach this type of offense efficiency, a decade later should the team add a pro-bowl caliber wide receiver alongside the dynamic dual-threat Fields.

A potential player on the market that yet to pick up his fifth-year option is 23-year-old Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy.

Jeudy is coming off his best season of his career, hauling in career-high numbers with 67 catches for 972 yards and six touchdowns. The fourth-year receiver was on pace to make the Pro Bowl and arguably could have made the cut if it wasn’t for the three games he missed due to leg-related injuries.

If Jeudy stays healthy, he can be a huge addition to any team he plays for, but it will need to take a trade in order for that to be made possible. The Bears will most likely trade their No. 1 overall selection for a defensive player but can potentially trade a player and a third round pick in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft to make the Jeudy transaction feasible.

Jeudy to the Bears would also pair the receiver up with former 1,000-yard receiver Darnell Mooney, who when healthy and in a stable offense has top-20 receiver potential. This tandem could bring the Bears’ passing game to a much higher level than it currently is at.
