NFL Exec Reveals Main Trade Target The Colts Should Pursue

The Indianapolis Colts are in need of some depth at wide receiver, and a former NFL executive has told the NFL Analysis Network who he thinks they should pursue.

Denver Broncos wide out Jerry Jeudy.

“Jerry Jeudy is going to be available for the right price,” said the former exec. “If I’m the Colts, I go all-out to get him. He would be a perfect No. 1 weapon for Anthony Richardson for years to come and would allow Michael Pittman Jr. to slide into the No. 2 role that he would thrive in.”

Jeudy was the subject of trade rumors during the offseason, but the Broncos held a high asking price for the receiver and rebuffed the offers that they did receive. The Colts have also been connected in rumors to Jeudy in the past.

However, with Denver getting off to an 0-3 start, most recently suffering an embarrassing 70-20 loss to the Miami Dolphins, it’s entirely possible that the club changes its stance on Jeudy between now and the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline.

The 24-year-old has logged eight catches for 106 yards thus far this season.

Jeudy, who played his collegiate football at the University of Alabama, was originally selected by the Broncos with the 15th overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft.

While he may not be a No. 1 receiver, Jeudy has been productive throughout his NFL career.

Aside from an injury-riddled 2021 campaign in which he caught just 38 passes for 467 yards, Jeudy has approached 1,000 yards multiple times. In his rookie year, he snared 52 balls for 856 yards and three touchdowns, and last season, Jeudy hauled in 67 receptions for 972 yards and six scores.

The Colts have gotten off to a 2-1 start and are coming off of an upset win over the Baltimore Ravens this past weekend. In the very winnable AFC South, Indianapolis could decide to make some additions to bolster its roster in the coming weeks.
