The Las Vegas Raiders already lay clam to one of the best pass rushers in football in Maxx Crosby, but could they turn to a certain Jacksonville Jaguars star to bolster their front seven even further?

Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox wrote a piece detailing the top free agents for the Raiders to target this offseason, and one of the top names on the list was Jaguars edge rusher Josh Allen.

Allen is coming off of a brilliant 2023 campaign in which he racked up 66 tackles, 17.5 sacks, an interception and a couple of forced fumbles en route to his second Pro Bowl selection.

The 26-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Kentucky, was selected by Jacksonville with the seventh overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Allen hit the ground running his rookie year, rattling off 44 tackles, 10.5 sacks and a pair of forced fumbles. Injuries limited him to just eight games in 2020, and the following year, he returned and registered 71 tackles, 7.5 sacks, a pick, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

The Cumberland County, Va. native then posted very similar numbers in 2022, finishing with 57 tackles, seven sacks, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and a defensive touchdown.

Thanks to his breakout year this season, Allen will represent one of the top defensive players available this March and is in line to land a monster contract.

The good news for Las Vegas is that it is slated to have ample cap room heading into the offseason, as it currently boasts around $43.5 million in cap space.

If the Raiders are willing to pay up for Allen, they can have him, and it would give them arguably the best pass-rushing tandem in the NFL.

Las Vegas went 8-9 in 2023.
