Packers Again Urged To Trade For Big-Time Playmaker

The Green Bay Packers are heading into their Week 6 bye with a 2-3 record. While they are certainly disappointed about the losing record, they have to feel pretty moving forward, all things considered.

They have had to deal with a rash of injuries in the first five weeks. Key contributors such as running back Aaron Jones, wide receiver Christian Watson, cornerback Jaire Alexander and left guard Elgton Jenkins have all missed multiple games. Left tackle David Bakhtiari was also placed on injured reserve, putting his season in danger.

That is a lot of talent to be missing before even taking into consideration the players who have been limited, such as wide receiver Romeo Doubs and pass rusher Rashan Gary. This week off is going to do the team some good and help get guys back closer to 100 percent healthy.

It is also a time for the coaching staff to evaluate the roster. Some extra practice time will enable them to make changes and get those guys the kind of reps they need to be prepared to play a new role.

Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report has put together a piece highlighting three players that the Packers must target to remain in the playoff race this season. One of those players is wide receiver Marquise Brown of the Arizona Cardinals.

Green Bay has opted to take a slow developmental approach at the position as there isn’t a single player on the roster who had more than one season of NFL experience coming into 2023. There is certainly potential amongst this group, but adding someone with experience would not only help them, but first-time starting quarterback, Jordan Love.

Adding a deep threat the caliber of Brown could really help take this offense to another level. He is quietly having the best season of his career in the desert despite less-than-ideal conditions with a rookie head coach and Kyler Murray being sidelined.

On an expiring contract, Brown is someone whose name is going to come up a lot ahead of the deadline on October 31st. If the Cardinals opt to maximize his value and make a trade, the Packers are one of the teams who should be showing interest.
