With each passing week, the Carolina Panthers are moving one step closer to securing the worst record in the NFL. At 1-9 through Week 11, they are two games clear of everyone else as every other franchise in the league has at least three wins this season.

Normally, a team and their fans can at least look forward to a top pick coming from such a poor season. But, the Panthers won’t have that luxury either, as their first-round pick is owned by the Chicago Bears courtesy of the blockbuster trade this offseason to land the No. 1 pick and select quarterback Bryce Young out of Alabama.

With each mounting loss, one more ugly than the next, the seat of head coach Frank Reich is heating up. Despite signing a contract that pays him $9 million annually through 2026, Reich is certainly in danger of being one-and-done in Carolina.

It is a situation that he is aware of, as he knows his job is on the line. However, it isn’t something that he is concerning himself with. When asked about his job security, he revealed that his focus is elsewhere.

“I’m just focused on getting ready for Tennessee,” Reich said. “This is a week-to-week league. And we all know what we sign up for when we get into this business. I’m comfortable with that. Just keep working, put your head down, and focus on your work. So I don’t think that’s not a distraction.” (H/T AtoZ Sports)

Heading into a Week 11 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys, Panthers’ ownership made it clear they wanted to see progression from the offense. Reich took playcalling duties back from Thomas Brown, but the results remained middling.

Carolina lost 33-10 to the Dallas Cowboys as the offense managed only one touchdown. They managed only 187 yards of total offense as Young continues to look overwhelmed behind a porous offensive line, surrounded by lackluster weapons.

As the Panthers continue to sink near the bottom of the league’s offensive rankings, the pressure will rise on Reich. Ownership has let it be known what they are looking for down the stretch of a lost season. If he cannot provide that, his job will be in jeopardy this offseason.
