Philadelphia Eagles fans are not exactly thrilled with their team’s coaching staff following blowout losses to the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys, but head coach Nick Sirianni is staying the course.

When asked if he would be potentially canning offensive coordinator Brian Johnson and consequently taking over play-calling duties, he firmly said “no,” via the Eagles’ press conference YouTube account.

“I feel good with the people that we have in this building,” Sirianni added. “We’re 10-3. We’re in control of our own destiny, and we’re going to keep rolling and finding answers with the people that we have.”

Philadelphia has lost its last two games by a combined score of 75-32, good for the worst point differential in the NFL in the month of December.

Clearly, offense has not been the only issue for Philly over its last couple of games. Defense has also been a problem, and it has actually been a weak point for the Eagles all season long.

Sirianni’s club ranks 22nd in the league in yards allowed and 28th in scoring defense, so he was also asked about defensive coordinator Sean Desai.

“Yeah, total confidence,” Sirianni said of Desai. “Obviously, that’s why we hired him for the job. That’s why I hired him for the job in Sean. And I think where it is, the yards pile up on you when you’re giving up some third downs.”

Eagles fans are beginning to get frustrated, as it seems fairly obvious that something is off with the club this season. Jalen Hurts has taken a step back after his MVP-caliber campaign a year ago, the defense has been shoddy, and now, Philadelphia has fallen into second place in the NFC East due to currently losing the tiebreaker to the Cowboys.

Nick Sirianni’s group will aim to right the ship when it takes on the sliding Seattle Seahawks next Monday. The defending NFC champions will then sandwich a couple of games with the New York Giants around a matchup with the Arizona Cardinals to close out the regular season.
