The Baltimore Ravens didn’t play in Week 13 as they had their bye week. But, they have to feel as if they won as they watched the teams closest to them in the AFC North race, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns, both lose.
The Steelers suffered an embarrassing loss at home to the Arizona Cardinals while the Browns lost on the road to the Los Angeles Rams. Both teams had quarterback issues as Pittsburgh starter Kenny Pickett went down with an ankle injury and Joe Flacco was the fourth starter for Cleveland under center this season.
The Ravens have been very lucky when it comes to quarterback health thus far this season. Lamar Jackson hasn’t missed a game, something that has become an unfortunate yearly occurrence in recent seasons.
However, there is some cause for concern coming out of the bye week. According to JPAFootball on X, formerly known as Twitter, Jackson did not practice on Thursday. After being a full participant on Wednesday, he was not present today. No reason has been given yet for the absence, as it is the first time he hasn’t been present at practice this season.
This will be something to keep an eye on as the situation is currently unknown. It is certainly a confusing situation as Jackson was full on Wednesday and the team is coming off their bye week without him having any injury designation the last time they played.
Should Jackson not be able to play for whatever reason, the team would turn to backup Tyler Huntley. Huntley has appeared in three games this season and has started in four games each of the last two seasons in place of an injured Jackson.
In 12 games this season, Jackson has played well as he was recently finding his stride. He has completed 68.3 percent of his passes, which would be a career-high, for 2,618 yards and 13 touchdowns with five interceptions. He has added 574 yards on the ground with another five scores as he is taking to the offensive coordinator change well.
