Should the New Orleans Saints Shop Mark Ingram on the Trade Market?

The Case for Dealing Ingram

With one of the elite options at the position in Kamara, the Saints should look and see what they can get for Ingram.

With the Eagles losing Jay Ajayi for the year, the Dolphins struggling to balance Kenyan Drake and Frank Gore, the Falcons playing without Devonta Freeman and the Buccaneers having nothing to write home about at all, there are plenty of potential suitors for Ingram.

Other potential landing spots for the former Heisman winner include Tennessee, Houston, and Green Bay. By the way, the thought of Ingram next to Aaron Rodgers is terrifying to think about.

If anyone of the teams above were to table a first-round pick for the Alabama product, the Saints would have to contemplate the offer. Why hold onto a player who will turn 29 in two months when you have a 23-year-old who has proven himself as an elite option at the same position?

If the Steelers were to get tired of the Le’Veon Bell stalemate, Ingram could be a trade target if they deal Bell.

There is a laundry list of reasons why Ingram may be on his way out of the only franchise he’s ever known.
