The Tennessee Titans are set to begin their rebuild during the 2024 NFL offseason. After spending the 2023 season toeing the line of competing and rebuilding, the Titans have committed to the rebuild route.

The process started by firing head coach Mike Vrabel, who has been replaced by Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan. He will have his work cut out for him getting the franchise back on track as they are lacking weapons offensively.

Tennessee seems committed to seeing what 2023 second-round pick Will Levis has as their starting quarterback. He took over midway through his rookie season from Ryan Tannehill and will have a chance to cement his status as the long-term starter.

Upgrading the weapons around him is a necessity for the franchise. DeAndre Hopkins remained a productive player, but he received very little help. With star running back Derrick Henry hitting free agency, the weapons around Levis are even more depleted.

However, the biggest weakness, according to PFF’s Mock Draft Simulator, that the Titans have to overcome is their offensive line. Tennessee’s offensive line finished ranked last in the 2023 season, as the worst unit in terms of pass-blocking efficiency.

Slated to pick at No. 7 in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Titans are in prime position to select one of the top offensive linemen from this year’s draft class. The ideal pick for them? Notre Dame offensive tackle, Joe Alt.

“At 6-foot-8, Alt brings elite size to offensive tackle. He’s been even better this year at using that size and length to his advantage, yet he maintains technique with leverage to mitigate any natural weaknesses,” as written on PFF’s Big Board Analysis.

Alt is in the conversation to be the first offensive lineman off the board in the 2024 NFL Draft. If he is on the board when the Titans come on the clock, he will be one of the players they strongly considered selecting.

While some fans may want Tennessee’s front office to target weapons to place around Levis, rebuilding the offensive line is of the utmost importance. If they cannot block for Levis, it won’t matter who is around him as he will be incapable of getting the ball to in their hands.
