The Tennessee Titans have already moved safety Kevin Byard, and apparently, more trades could be coming ahead of the Oct. 31 NFL deadline.
According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Titans not only received calls about Byard—who was dealt to the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this week—but have also received inquiries on running back Derrick Henry and wide receiver Treylon Burks.
Tennessee was unable to reach a long-term agreement with Henry going into the season, which essentially started the clock for his end to his Titans tenure.
Henry’s contract expires at the end of the season, and with Tennessee being 2-4 and hardly resembling contenders, it could ultimately ship Henry off before the deadline next week.
The three-time Pro Bowler no longer fits the Titans’ timeline, as the franchise appears to be headed toward an inevitable rebuild. Henry turns 30 years old in December.
Henry has spent his entire career in Tennessee since being drafted by the club back in 2016, but he may end up playing out the rest of this season in a different uniform.
Meanwhile, Burks was taken by the Titans with the 18th overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft but has not worked out. He had a pretty disappointing rookie campaign, catching 33 passes for 444 yards and a touchdown. This year, he has been a relative non-factor, logging just six grabs for 99 yards. He has also been dealing with a knee injury that has limited him to three games.
Now, it should be said that Russini noted Tennessee does not appear motivated to move Burks at the current point in time. He is still under his rookie contract, and it’s not like the Titans have had a great quarterback situation since he was drafted. So, the chances of Burks being traded seem slim.
However, it’s looking more and more like Henry could be moved. The Baltimore Ravens and Dallas Cowboys have been mentioned as potential destinations for the halfback.
