The NFL season culminated in an amazing, memorable Super Bowl, in which the Kansas City Chiefs emerged victorious.

The NFL is one of the world’s most exciting sports leagues, with some high-profile fixtures. In this guide, we’ll run through some of the most exciting twists and turns of the season.

The 2023 season will soon be here, and NFL predictions can be difficult, but studying the form can help with your NFL betting.

Kansas City Chiefs 38-35 Philadelphia Eagles

The Super Bowl itself is always the culmination of all that drama and hard work. In the 2023 edition, the Kansas City Chiefs would emerge victorious in one of the most thrilling finals of recent years.

The final had a lot of drama, not least when the legendary, record-breaking Patrick Mahomes limped off the field with an ankle injury. Mahomes has struggled with problems with his ankle in recent months, and the Eagles took the lead as his ankle appeared to let him down again.

Mahomes is such a talismanic figure that it was a huge blow to lose him, but the redemption ark was real! He returned for the second half and the Chiefs scored on every attacking possession they had in the last 30 minutes, which led to an amazing 38-35 victory.

Mahomes won the MVP award for his 21/27 completed passes for 182 yards and three touchdown throws, in spite of his ankle causing no end of problems.

Mahomes is still working on the ankle ahead of the next NFL season and it continues to cause him problems, but he has shown that this is not going to stop him from being an all-time great and a leader for the Chiefs.

Kansas City Chiefs 24-27 Cincinnati Bengals

Taking a step back in the season, Mahomes was not on the victorious side back in week 13 of the season, when the Bengals defeated his Kansas City Chiefs by 27-24 in Ohio.

The Chiefs had held the lead, but after a fumble and a 53-yard drive from Joe Burrow, the Bengals eventually took the victory.

Burrow threw for 286 yards in total, and this included two passing touchdowns as well as one rushing touchdown. Mahomes had a respectable 223 yards. This goes to show that even the very best aren’t victorious all the time, and Patrick had to show some incredible perseverance to come out on top in the Super Bowl itself.

Minnesota Vikings 39-36 Indianapolis Colts

We simply couldn’t leave this game out. It is the biggest comeback in the history of the NFL. The Vikings managed to come back and win the matchup, in spite of being 33-0 down at halftime.

You could forgive the fans for thinking they had no chance, but this was an amazing turnaround that needed overtime as the Vikings beat the Colts 39-36.

Kirk Cousins was not in the game at all at the start, but eventually, he managed to throw four touchdown passes as the game ended level and therefore went to overtime.

Cousins found Dalvin Cook to complete a touchdown and conversion to tie the game, and the Colts then decided to risk it on fourth down, rather than punting.

The Vikings managed to prevent the first down and take the victory as Greg Joseph completed a 40-yard field goal under huge pressure.

The previous record for the biggest comeback had stood since the Bills made a 32-point turnaround in 1993 against the Houston Oilers. The Oilers are now the Titans, of course, showing how long it truly has been since this record was broken.

Buffalo Bills 30-33 Minnesota Vikings

Another amazing comeback to complete our list of memorable games. This game has been voted the top game of the season, and the clash in the tenth week saw the Vikings behind by 17 in the third quarter.

That late in the game, you would assume that things were a foregone conclusion, but Dalvin Cook managed to make an amazing 81-yard rush to give his team a glimmer of hope.

Kirk Cousins showed his quality and helped the team finally take a lead within the last 60 seconds. Tyler Bass converted a touchdown with 41 seconds left, which helped to send the game to overtime. Minnesota went on to take a famous win.

This game has gone down in history as one of the true greats of all time. One of the highlights is Justin Jefferson’s unbelievable catch, he took it one-handed as he fell to the ground but managed to make the amazing fourth-down conversion.

This was also the longest fourth-down conversion made by any team in this classic season.

Summary
