As we deeper into the NFL season, could the Kansas City Chiefs look to make a big splash in a trade?
Through two weeks of the season, the Kansas City Chiefs have a 1-1 record after losing to the Detroit Lions in the first game of the season. The Chiefs were able to bounce back with a nice win against the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road by a score of 17-9.
While it was good for the Chiefs to get the win, the offense scoring only 17 points was a bit surprising.
Even though it is very early on in the season, the Chiefs offense looks a bit thin at the wide receiver position. Furthermore, the Chiefs will always have a chance with Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, but to strengthen their title hopes, the Chiefs might look to add some talent.
In a recent ESPN article, they spoke about a hypothetical trade that would send Jonathan Taylor to the Chiefs in exchange for some draft picks and Clyde Edwards-Helaire.
Kansas City adding Taylor would likely send shockwaves throughout the NFL. The Colts, likely won’t be a playoff team this season and could very well look to move Taylor to get more draft capital to help surround Anthony Richardson in the future.
While Taylor is still out for a couple more weeks, he could be an absolute game-changer for the Chiefs. In his first two seasons in the league, Taylor averaged over 5.0 yards per carry and over 1,000 rushing yards each year. Last season with the Colts, Taylor only played in 11 games but was still able to total over 800 rushing yards.
For Kansas City, balance on offense has always been a bit of an issue. However, adding Jonathan Taylor would provide Mahomes with the best running back he has played with in his career and would help make the Chiefs’ offense even scarier.
