When the Minnesota Vikings pulled the trigger on LSU standout Justin Jefferson in the first round of this year’s NFL Draft, they clearly envisioned him stepping right in and filling Stefon Diggs’ shoes.
Diggs was traded to the Buffalo Bills this offseason, leaving a huge vacancy in the Vikings wide receiving group. Jefferson is more than capable of filling those shoes. He may end up having a more productive career with Minnesota when it’s all said and done.
Jefferson was one of the most productive receivers in this year’s draft class. In 2019, Jefferson totaled 111 receptions for 1,540 yards and 18 touchdowns. His 111 catches lead the entire SEC. An impressive accomplishment, especially when his teammate Ja’Mar Chase was the leader of nearly every other receiving category.
Expect big things out of Jefferson from the start in Minnesota. Here are three numbers Jefferson should keep in the back of his mind entering his rookie season.
