Vikings’ Kirk Cousins Is Better Than Aaron Rodgers, Josh Allen In This Wild Stat

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins is one of the more overlooked players in the league. While no one is going to rank him among the elite players at the position in the NFL, he does deserve a little more respect than he gets.

One knock against him is that he isn’t able to get the job done in crunch time. When the lights get bright, he wilts. While his record in prime-time games isn’t great, Kirk Cousins did show up when the Vikings needed him most last season.

He led the league with eight fourth-quarter comebacks and eight game-winning drives in 2022. That held led the team to a 13-4 record and the NFC North title. While some people have pointed the finger at him for the team’s disappointing loss at home to the New York Giants during Super Wild Card Weekend, that blame should go on the defense.

Kirk Cousins oversaw and operated a top-10 offense in the NFL. That came without much help from the running game, which was 27th in yards and 26th in yards per carry. He picked up as much of the slack as he could for a defense that ranked 31st in yards allowed and 28th in points.

Throughout his 11-season career, Kirk Cousins has been putting up solid numbers that have gone most unnoticed. For his career, he averages 261.5 passing yards per game, which is a very strong number.

Just how productive is that? Kirk Cousins ranks ahead of legendary players such as Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers, as well as perennial MVP candidate and current Buffalo Bills superstar, Josh Allen.

Favre averaged 237.9 throughout his illustrious career, while Rodgers is at 256.8 and Allen is at 238.9. Those numbers are certainly impressive in their own right, but it goes to show that Kirk Cousins receives a lot of undeserved flack. He produces at a very high rate and is one of the better passers in the NFL currently.
