Did New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones hit New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner in his private area on Sunday?

During a scuffle in the middle of the Patriots’ 15-10 Week 3 win over the Jets, Gardner was seen pushing Jones to the ground. Afterward, Gardner said his shove on Jones was a response to Jones hitting him in his private parts.

Initial camera angles could not catch what Gardner was referring to, as most of the view was blocked by other players. However, on Monday, a video surfaced which may prove Gardner correct.

While the view is still somewhat obstructed, you can see Jones’ right hand make a movement toward Gardner’s midsection.

Chances are, Gardner was not lying about the Patriots’ quarterback.

It doesn’t help Jones’ case that he has built a reputation for being a dirty player since entering the NFL in 2021, and in this piece by Joe Rivera of The Sporting News, you can see a timeline of some questionable conduct from Jones, some of which resulted in fines.

The video of Jones potentially hitting Gardner was sent to the league office, so it remains to be seen whether or not the NFL takes action. You have to think that Jones’ history will certainly play a role in the league’s decision to potentially hand down some punishment.

Jones wasn’t very impressive overall on Sunday, going 15-for-29 with 201 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots’ five-point win that was largely directed by their defense.

Through three games as a whole in 2023, Mac Jones has thrown for 748 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions while completing 64.8 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 87.7.

Meanwhile, Sauce Gardner has logged 12 tackles and a forced fumble over the first three weeks. The second-year corner is coming off of a rookie campaign in which he earned a Pro Bowl appearance and a First-Team All-Pro selection.

Both the Jets and the Patriots are 1-2.
