Where Could Bengals’ Tee Higgins Land In Free Agency?

While the Cincinnati Bengals have recently inked quarterback Joe Burrow to a substantial five-year, $275 million contract, the signing has raised questions about their ability to retain wide receiver Tee Higgins.

It doesn’t necessarily mean there’s no room in the budget for Higgins, but it certainly adds a challenge.

Earlier in the 2023 season, reports suggested that the Bengals might not have included Higgins in their long-term plans, a puzzling notion given his impressive stats. Higgins has amassed 3,684 receiving yards and scored 24 touchdowns during his time with the Bengals. Despite a rib injury that limited him to 12 games, he has consistently performed well, averaging 14.3 yards per catch.

The Bengals have since designated Higgins as their “top priority” for re-signing. However, should negotiations falter, and Higgins becomes a free agent, where might he land? Here are three potential destinations to consider.

Los Angeles Chargers

With a new coach on the horizon and an anticipated offensive overhaul, the Chargers are poised for change.

Justin Herbert, their highly talented young quarterback, could greatly benefit from a receiver like Higgins. Bringing attention to the second Los Angeles team, Higgins could be a valuable addition to their evolving offense.

Kansas City Chiefs

Envision Patrick Mahomes connecting with Tee Higgins. It’s a scenario that would thrill fantasy football enthusiasts.

The Chiefs faced issues with dropped passes and lacked reliable receiving options, with tight end Travis Kelce often being Mahomes’ primary target. Kansas City is in dire need of enhancing their receiving corps to support their star quarterback.

Tennessee Titans

The Titans made a questionable trade prior to the 2022 season, sending A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles, shifting their status from contenders to rebuilders. Their draft pick acquisition, Treylon Burks, hasn’t panned out as expected.

With DeAndre Hopkins having only one year left on his contract, the Titans require a long-term No. 1 receiver to bolster their lineup.
