Why Kristian Fulton and the Cowboys could be an interesting match in the NFL Draft

Standing at 6-foot and weighing in at 200 pounds, Fulton is your prototypical corner. His measurables are actually very comparable to Jones’.

At LSU, Fulton was asked to man up on the outside quite a bit. Over the last two seasons, Pro Football Focus graded him as the second best coverage corner in college football.

Out of all the corners entering this year’s draft, Fulton played in press coverage the third most, which should be very alluring for a team like the Cowboys. Jones was asked to play quite a bit of press coverage as well, so Fulton could easily step in an play that same role.

On 63 targets, Fulton only allowed 25 catches and forced 24 incompletions. Some say he’s the most pro-ready corner in this class due to his experience playing man coverage in college.

The one fault to his game is his speed, which Jones lacked none of. Fulton’s lack of blazing speed did lead to some explosive plays given up.

So, he may not be able to step right in and provide the same production Jones did, but he has all the qualities you want to see out of a young corner, with room for growth.

Don’t be shocked if Fulton is the Cowboys’ first round selection come draft night.
