For starters, Jeudy is the better prospect overall. While he doesn’t possess the electric straight line speed that Ruggs has, his 4.46 40 time is nothing to scoff at, and his speed has never come into question when watching the tape.
His quickness in his route running more than makes up for the lacking straight line speed. Jeudy is also entering a situation where he won’t be relied on as the only legit play maker on offense. With Courtland Sutton already in place as the No. 1 receiver, along with fellow rookie wdieout K.J. Hamler coming to Denver as well, quarterback Drew Locke will have plenty of potential around him.
In Ruggs’ case, he’ll likely be relied on heavily in his rookie campaign. Hunter Renfrow is a nice slot receiver, but the Raiders lack any kind of legit outside weapon, and they likely envision Ruggs as that guy. He has the speed to be that guy, but he could be overwhelmed not having another weapon to take some of the defensive focus off him.
At Bama, Jeudy took a lot of focus away from Ruggs, and Jeudy still balled out. Ruggs benefited from that immensely and he won’t have that luxury in Las Vegas.
Due to all this, Jeudy should have the better career at the end of the day.
