Jeff Gladney
First and foremost, it’s important to note that the Falcons would be best suited to select a corner that excels on the outside rather than in the nickel spot. That is due to Kendall Sheffield showing promise as a nickel cornerback in his rookie season in 2019.
Of course, every team in need of a cornerback would love to get their hands on Jeffrey Okudah. But with Atlanta sitting at No. 16, there’s absolutely a zero-percent chance that they land Okudah.
Nevertheless, one name that could be on Atlanta’s radar is Jeff Gladney. In recent months, Gladney’s draft stock has continued to rise. Gladney, a four-year starter at TCU, tallied five interceptions and 31 pass breakups in his final three seasons in college.
There’s no doubt that Gladney excels when he is given an opportunity to play in a man-coverage scheme on defense. Even though Falcons fans would likely rather draft someone else, Gladney wouldn’t be a terrible option for Dan Quinn’s defense.
