Jason Peters
NFL games are won and lost in the trenches. Building a solid defensive line is a must but having a reliable offensive line is just as important if not more. With the Philadelphia Eagles set to move on from the All-Pro lineman Jason Peters, the Bills should bring him in for a year and see what they can get out of the veteran.
If anything, Peters could be the voice and experience the Buffalo Bills need to take that all-important next step to the elite level. With a QB like Josh Allen running the show, he needs a solid player who knows how to block, read defensive schemes and make the necessary adjustments on the fly.
The Bills’ rushing attack finished 8th in rushing yards in 2019. Now imagine what they could do with a leader on the line who has been in the trenches and has a Super Bowl ring to prove it? The other factor is the mobility of Allen. In his first two years in the league, Allen has been sacked 66 times while rushing for 1141 yards
The reason for his sacks are breakdowns on the line, missed communications and blown coverages. This is what Johnson will fix. And the best part is, he doesn’t have to be on the field to do so either. He can be that veteran leader in practice and as a reserve player.
