3. Cole Kmet, Tight End, Notre Dame
With Austin Hooper set to hit free agency and the real possibility that he could end up leaving Atlanta, the Falcons could be looking at a young tight end in the draft. Notre Dame standout Cole Kmet has been rising up draft boards quickly this offseason and could be a potential option for the Falcons with this selection.
In 2019 with the Fighting Irish, Kmet caught 43 passes for 515 yards and six touchdowns. Those numbers may not scream “first-round pick” to many, but he would be an intriguing fit. Atlanta’s offense could fit him perfectly.
At 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds, Kmet is athletic and could be a lethal weapon for Matt Ryan. Obviously, this is only an option if Hooper leaves, but it would make sense. Kmet is a name to keep an eye on here.
